The Black Tulip ft. MCDJ Amsterdam

Aksonance ft. MCDJ Amsterdam · May 2024
The Black Tulip is a collaborative concept album with MCDJ Amsterdam that draws on the mythology of the rarest flower in the Dutch Golden Age. The tulip that never existed, yet drove an entire economy to madness, becomes the metaphor for obsession, value, and the stories we tell ourselves about what is worth pursuing.
The collaboration fuses Aksonance’s cinematic rock with MCDJ Amsterdam’s electronic textures, creating a hybrid sound that mirrors the album’s central tension: the organic and the artificial, the historical and the contemporary, the real and the speculative.
An album about the beauty of things that may never have been real, and the very real consequences of believing in them.
