MARILYN100 ICONS: The Centenary Becomes a Global Contest
June 4, 2026
Three days after the centenary launch, MARILYN100 opens a new chapter: a free international contest that transforms the collection from something to look at into something to inhabit.
The Formula
The Marilyns of Micheline Grisolame, interpreted by Marilyn Monroe lookalikes worldwide. That is the core of MARILYN100 ICONS: each participant chooses one of the hundred Cyberpaintings, studies the composition, the palette, the posture, the light, and recreates it through clothing, makeup, and setting. The result is shared on Instagram with the required hashtags, and an AI-powered index measures the impact week by week.
This is icon reinterpretation, a discipline that sits at the intersection of cosplay, editorial photography, and performance art. The participant becomes an interpreter of the work, adding a third layer to the dialogue between the original master and Micheline Grisolame.
The M100 Index
Rankings are determined by the M100 Index, calculated weekly from public social media data. The formula weighs three components: engagement (50%), reach (30%), and posting frequency (20%). The methodology is public, the data is verifiable, and the ranking is published every Tuesday at marilyn100.com/icons. There is no subjective jury. The audience decides.
The Prizes
First place receives the original artwork corresponding to the Cyberpainting they interpreted, a unique 40×40 cm piece valued at $11,000. Second and third place each receive a 30×30 cm multiple of their choice from the collection. All prizes are physical artworks shipped at the organizer’s expense. Winners are announced on December 12, 2026.
How to Participate
Registration is free and open to anyone aged 18 or over, anywhere in the world, of any gender. The only technical requirement is a public Instagram account. Each participant registers at marilyn100.com/icons, selects a stage name, uploads a presentation photo verified by AI, and begins publishing content with the required hashtags: #MARILYN100, #Marilyn100Icons, #Cyberpainting, #MichelineGrisolame, plus the opera number and city.
The contest runs through November 30, 2026. Six months to build a following, refine interpretations, and climb the ranking.
The Soundtrack
Participants are encouraged to use AKSONANCE tracks as audio for their Reels and TikToks. The ambient textures of The Breath of Silence and the latest singles provide an atmospheric continuity across all ICONS content, creating a recognizable sonic signature for the project.
What Happens Next
The first Top 10 ranking will be published on Tuesday, June 9. Every week, the leaderboard updates and the gallery at marilyn100.com/icons grows with new participants, new cities, and new interpretations. The world map fills in. The collection comes to life.
Registration is open now at marilyn100.com/icons.
