Late Light

Aksonance (October 2026)

Late Light inhabits the hour when the day lets go. Five in the evening, the early dark already closing in, and what remains is not the people but the things they left behind: a lamp still burning by the door, a coat going round in the launderette with no one inside, a square of amber on the wall.

The song is a meditation on the quiet persistence of warmth after departure. Objects hold the shape of the lives that passed through them. The kettle, the chair, the forgotten glove, each one keeping heat against the chill a little longer than it should. The light asks nothing in return. It simply stays.
